Trencent Francois Found Dead: One Dead, One in Custody Following Toronto Street Homicide in Winnipeg

Family, friends, and members of the Winnipeg community are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of 21-year-old Trencent Francois of Nelson House First Nation, who died following a violent incident early Saturday morning in the 700 block of Toronto Street.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers responded just after 3:00 a.m. on June 13, 2026, to a report of a serious incident at a residence in the area. When Central and North District General Patrol officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries and immediately provided emergency response measures.

The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where medical staff worked tirelessly in an attempt to save his life. Despite those efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries, leaving loved ones devastated by the sudden and unimaginable loss.

The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation and confirmed the identity of the deceased as Trencent Francois, a member of the Nelson House First Nation who had been residing in Winnipeg.

Following the incident, an adult female was taken into custody at the scene. Police identified her as 20-year-old Precious Rayne Walker, who has been charged with manslaughter and remains in custody as investigators continue their work.
